According to the Article 28 of the Family Code of Ukraine, an application for marriage registration is submitted by a woman and a man to any body of state registration of civil status acts by their choice.
Persons who submitted an application for marriage registration are considered bride and groom.
An application for marriage registration is submitted by a woman and a man in person.
If a woman and (or) a man cannot, due to valid reasons, personally submit an application for marriage registration to the state registration body of civil status acts, such an application, notarized, can be submitted by their representatives. The authority of the representative must be notarized.
If the marriage registration did not take place on the specified day, the application for marriage registration becomes invalid after the expiration of three months from the date of its submission.
