What is Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine?

Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine belongs to the category of property crimes.

According to the article 191 of the Criminal code of Ukraine, appropriation or waste of someone else's property, which was entrusted to a person or was in his care, - shall be punished by a fine from two thousand to five thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or by correctional labor for a term of up to two years, or by restriction of liberty for a term of up to four years, or by deprivation of liberty for a term of up to four years, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities activity for a period of up to three years or without such.

Appropriation, embezzlement or appropriation of someone else's property by abuse of official position by an official - shall be punished by restriction of liberty for a term of up to five years or deprivation of liberty for the same term, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years.

Actions provided for by the first or second part of this article, committed repeatedly or by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, - shall be punished by restriction of liberty for a term of three to five years or deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years.

Actions provided for by parts one, two or three of this article, if they are committed on a large scale or in conditions of a state of war or state of emergency, - shall be punished by deprivation of liberty for a term of five to eight years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years.

The actions provided for by parts one, two, three or four of this article, if they are committed in particularly large quantities or by an organized group, - shall be punished by deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to twelve years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years and with confiscation of property.
